The Story
I joined the Exodus Team half way through a week long cycling tour which ran down a large section of the Mediterranean coast, all the way from Barcelona to Valencia. It deserved more than just a collection of photos, I wanted to capture the feeling of what it was like to be there. Not only the spectacular scenery, but the friendships made between strangers, the challenges and the sense of achievement everyone had throughout.
The result was a collection of photography, a promotional highlight film and social media content to help Exodus inspire future riders.

Behind The Lens
The process behind filming a cycling adventure
Spending three days embedded within the tour meant constantly thinking one step ahead.
With an electric bike and a backpack full of camera gear, I spent large parts of each day riding ahead of the group to scout locations, set up shots and capture each moment, before quickly catching back up.
Planning was essential. Every climb, drone flight and camera angle had to be carefully timed because there was rarely a second chance.
But with the help of the Exodus team, I was able to keep track of the group, allowing one of their phones using GPS, this came in especially handy when capturing drone shots!
The result was capturing the story of the tour from within. From the stunning visual landscapes to the emotions and accomplishment that the riders felt at the end of each day.
